Fed: Memorial service for Sir Charles Court on January 4

CANBERRA, Dec 24 AAP - The late West Australian premier Sir Charles Court will be honoured
at a state memorial service on Friday, January 4, the WA government said today.

Sir Charles, who served as premier of WA from 1974 to 1982, passed away peacefully
at home on Saturday night with his family by his side.

The service is to begin at 11am (WDT) in Winthrop Hall at The University of Western Australia.

Relatives, friends, representatives of organisations and members of the public have
been invited to attend.

As a mark of respect, flags on government buildings will be flown at half-mast on the
day of the memorial service.
